Our Birth Control Services

The following contraception services are offered at the clinic and can be inserted/administered (quick start) the day of a surgical abortion procedure or an appointment can be booked separately. On the day of your surgical or medication abortion appointment, you can also discuss birth control options, receive information about options and/or a prescription for a birth control method.

IUD Insertion/Removal

If you have a prescription for an IUD, you can have it filled at a pharmacy and bring the IUD with you or you can purchase an IUD for insertion at the clinic. If you are going to purchase an IUD at the clinic, we are unable to direct bill for prescription coverage. You will need to pay for the IUD and will be provided with a receipt to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

The clinic has the following IUD’s available for purchase:

Mirena®, Kyleena® and Mona Lisa® *We only offer the Mona Lisa Standard for purchase here.

If you would like to have an IUD inserted with conscious sedation medication there is a fee and specific appointment instructions you will need to follow. If you would like more information about this service please inquire when booking an IUD insertion/removal appointment.

A Copper IUD may also be used as emergency contraception if you have it inserted within 5 days of unprotected sex and it can be up to 99% effective at preventing pregnancy. You will need to call the clinic to book an appointment for an emergency contraception IUD insertion.

NEXPLANON® Insertion/Removal

If you have a prescription for NEXPLANON® you can have it filled at a pharmacy and bring it with you or you can purchase NEXPLANON® at the clinic. If you are going to purchase NEXPLANON® at the clinic, we are unable to direct bill for prescription coverage. You will need to pay for the NEXPLANON® and will be provided with a receipt to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Depo Provera® Injection

If you have a prescription for Depo Provera® you can have it filled at a pharmacy and bring it with you or you can purchase Depo Provera® at the clinic. If you are going to purchase Depo Provera® at the clinic we are unable to direct bill for prescription coverage. You will need to pay for the Depo Provera® and will be provided with a receipt to submit to your insurance provider for reimbursement.
